The area of Chiang Mai has many other attractions, including the breathtaking hikes through the mountains of northern Thailand. If you plan to be more than a few days in the city, here are some other things to see and do:
- You temples outside the old town - Wat Suan Dok, Wat Bupparam, Wat Umong, Wat Saen Fang and Wat Ket Garam are just some of the many remarkable temple in Chiang Mai most. Hire a tuk tuk or taxi and spend the day in this wats if you have time.
- The National Museum of Chiang Mai - Chiang Mai Despite feels like a living museum, you have a better understanding of the Lanna Kingdom visit this great collection, well organized and artifacts in the north of the old art. Plan to spend a couple of hours.
- Because the markets - markets in Chiang Mai are among the best in Thailand. If you are in Chiang May for the weekend, spend a few hours walking through the market weekend or head to one of the many local markets in the city.
- Dinner at the River Ping - Ping River flanking the east side of the old city and has to eat many small charming restaurants. There are also night river cruises that leave from the east side of Nawarat bridge.
