Koh Chang, the second largest island in Thailand, on the coast of Trat Province on the eastern side of the Gulf of Siam. Koh Chang has everything you want in a tropical island - white sand beaches, lots of palm trees and warm clear water. But at least for now, has no large crowds following is most popular in Phuket or Koh Samui. This does not mean that it is fully developed. There are many places and the lack of roads, restaurants and shops, too (and everyone on the way).
Travelling in Koh Chang
Koh Chang is a large island, if you stay on the beach, you have to understand how to get from one place to another.
Songthaews (covered truck with seats in the back) cover most of the perimeter of the island and serves as a public buses. In a regular course expect to pay around 30 baht.
Bicycles are available for rent on Koh Chang for around 200 euros per day, but be aware that road conditions can be very difficult! Cycling around Koh Chang is not for beginners. There are many accidents per year.

Getting to Koh Chang
By plane: Take a direct flight from Bangkok to Trat and transfer to the pier ask yourself.
By Bus: Take a direct bus from Ekkamai and Mo Chit bus station in Bangkok to Trat. The journey takes about 5 hours and there are also dozens of private bus companies make the trip.
By boat: Once in Laem Ngop, the ferry to Koh Chang. The ride is a little less than an hour and boats run frequently during the day.

There is a hotel, resort and bungalow options in Koh Chang each month. Whether you are looking for a cheap bungalow or a luxury hotel, located on the island.
The surrounding islands:
South of Koh Chang are a handful of other islands, most of which Koh Mak and Koh Kood (sometimes spelled "Koh Koot" or "Koh Kut"). Koh Kood is among travelers who want to targets outside the typical path is not widely known. Koh Mak is quick to see a favorite of the island's two slightly just before the world will want to wind.
