Loy Krathong

Loy Krathong, the most beautiful holiday of the year in Thailand starts on the full moon of the twelfth lunar month of Thailand (usually in late October or early November) and lasts for three days in most areas. During this time, people make or buy small Krathong (float) with candles and flowers floating to let in rivers, oceans or other waters the negative and decorated to welcome good luck and happiness feelings and bad luck. In some parts of the country, people and lanterns Khom Fai float in the sky.

Over the years, the Thai festival also took a romantic feel, and some young Thais as similar to Valentine's Day. You will see many young couples do, or buy, Krathongs and even free water. Like any Thai festival, there are many vendors offering snacks and treats, where people come together to sell their Krathongs free. The festival is visually stunning and everyone involved in a fun and friendly atmosphere, so it is an unforgettable experience for visitors.

There are celebrations all over the country, but the Festival of Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Sukhothai complex, complete with a bunch of other people and entertainment. If you do not have your own Krathong (traditionally folded banana leaves decorated with flowers), do not worry because you will be able to find and buy almost anywhere, just before and during the festival.
